Fraunhofer IIS

The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS (Fraunhofer IIS) conducts contract research for industry, the service sector and public authorities. Through their development work in the field of IC design and design automation, the institute has become one of Europe's leading IC design houses. ICs are designed for both complex digital and mixed-signal components. Backed by more than 25 years of experience as a supplier of technology- and manufacturer-independent design solutions, the institute can also provide fabrication services via MPW for small quantities of custom ASICs in addition to all-round service from conceptual design to the launch of series production. In order to meet future requirements, Fraunhofer IIS is conducting research in the fields of smart integrated systems and nanometer technologies. In addition, the institute is developing efficient and innovative methods and tools, such as an Intelligent IP mixed-signal design flow. The researchers also work on novel solutions to ensure the reliability of increasingly miniaturized and complex electronic systems over long life cycles.Basis for all Fraunhofer works in IC design and design automation is in-depth technical know-how including mixed-signal design, specification, modeling, simulation and optimization of systems as well as characterization of ICs and integration technologies.
